Jammu: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday held an organisational meeting at the party headquarters in Jammu to review ongoing programmes and discuss upcoming initiatives aimed at strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
The meeting was addressed by BJP J&K President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma and BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul.
Senior party leaders, including BJP J&K Vice President Rekha Mahajan, General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria and Secretary Reema Padha, also participated in the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma stressed the importance of continuous public engagement at the grassroots level. He reviewed the progress of ongoing organisational programmes and said every party worker must act as a bridge between the party and society.
He also called for active participation in upcoming programmes, including the “Mann Ki Baat” outreach campaign, so that its message reaches every household.
Sat Sharma strongly criticised the Congress and the INDI alliance over what he termed their “double standards” on women’s empowerment. He alleged that these parties had historically failed to ensure meaningful representation for women and had obstructed the Women Reservation Bill in Parliament.
Referring to the legislation formally known as the Constitution (One Hundred and Sixth Amendment) Act, 2023, Sharma said the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had ensured greater respect and representation for women through decisive policies.
In his address, Ashok Koul highlighted the importance of the ongoing “Prashikshan Mahabhiyan” training camps being organised across the region.
He said the camps are essential for the ideological strengthening and skill development of party workers, enabling them to communicate the party’s policies more effectively among the masses.
Koul reiterated that the BJP is committed to building a strong organisation by directly involving booth-level workers in society and encouraging their participation in social and developmental activities.
He asked party leaders to intensify preparations for forthcoming programmes and ensure maximum public participation.
“BJP’s strength lies in its disciplined cadre and its deep-rooted connect with the people,” he said.
During the meeting, senior party leaders also shared suggestions aimed at improving organisational efficiency and public outreach.
