Four ambulances available at SDH Bijbehara: Health Minister

JAMMU: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, today informed that the Critical Care Ambulances (CCA) procured under the 108-Emergency Services with World Bank assistance were distributed among various health institutions strictly on the basis of assessed requirement and institutional priority.

The Health Minister stated this while replying to a calling attention motion moved by Legislator Dr. Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri in House today.

She informed that the allocation of ambulances was undertaken after due consideration of factors like patient load, service demand, geographical coverage and the existing emergency response infrastructure across the health institutions.

The Minister also said that at present, four ambulances are available with SDH Bijbehara, including one under the 108 service and there is no immediate requirement for an additional ambulance for the hospital.
