Srinagar: Continuing its drive against drug menace, Kulgam police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 30 grams of brown sugar from their possession.
A police spokesman said that acting on specific information, Kulgam police laid a naka in their jurisdiction which was headed by SHO Qazigund. During naka checking, a car bearing registration number JK03B -2984 was intercepted.
On checking, 30 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the possession of Javid Ahmad Sofi son of Abdul Rehman Sofi resident of Hazratbal Anantnag, Fida Husain son of Mohammad Akram Bhat resident of Churat and Shabir Ahmad Mir resident of Ghulam Nabi Mir resident of Banihal. All the three drug peddlers were arrested and the car has been seized.
A case FIR number 171/2018 under section 8/20 NDPS was registered and investigation has been taken up.
