Power shutdowns announced across Sgr, other areas

Srinagar, February 4: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across Srinagar and several other areas of the Valley to facilitate maintenance and repair works on various 33 kV transmission lines.

According to KPDCL, the 33 kV Cheshmashahi–TRC Nedous line will remain shut on February 8, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm, affecting power supply to Dal, Paras Hospital, 33 kV installations of Rajbagh Tapline, and adjoining areas.

Similarly, the 33 kV Bemina–JVC line will be shut on February 7, 2026, from 10 am to 1 pm, impacting power supply to JVC Hospital, Children Hospital, State Motor Garage, Hajj House, Forensic Lab, PC Depot, Qamarwari, Barthana, and nearby localities.

The 33 kV Pampore–BK Pora line will observe a shutdown on February 5, 2026, from 10 am to 12 noon, affecting BK Pora, Khanda, Checkpora, Chatergam, Kenihama, Summerbugh, Wagoora, Aribagh, and adjoining areas.

KPDCL further informed that shutdowns of the 33 kV Badampora–Wangipora Tapline and 33 kV Badampora–Army Hakbara line will be carried out on February 9 and 14, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm. Areas likely to be affected include Batwina, Nowgam, Wangipora, Zazna, Ahan, Waskura, Kharbagh, Sumbal, Nesbal, Hajin, Preng, Madwan, Banyar, Hakbara, Chendergeer, and adjoining localities.

Additionally, the 33 kV Badampora–Lar Tulmulla line and 33 kV Badampora–Kurhama Dab line will remain shut on February 7 and 12, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm, affecting Lar, Waliwar, Watlar, Repore, Tulmulla, Dangerpora, Theeru, Larsun, Kurhama, Youngoora, Baroosa, Old Dab, Checki Baba, Salun, Sainik School, Rabitar, Kondbal, GCET, Safapora, and nearby areas.

The 33 kV Kangan–Surfraw line and 33 kV Wangath–Kangan line will also be shut on February 8, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm, impacting power supply to Gund, Gadribal, Kullan, Gagangeer, Sonamarg, Fraw, Ganiwan, Baba Nagri, Wangath, Naranagh, Kachnambal, and adjoining areas.

Similarly, shutdown of the 33 kV Lassipora–Keegam line is scheduled on February 7 and 10, 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm, affecting Pakherpora, Hawal, Rajpora, Rahmoo, Keegam, Gulshanabad, Akhal, Chararipora, and adjoining localities.

The 33 kV Pampore–SIDCO line will be shut on February 8, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm, affecting power supply to IE Khrew, Wuyan, cement plants, and surrounding areas.

Likewise, shutdown of the 33 kV Tapline of Tral 1st line from Nowdal will be observed on February 5, 7, and 10, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm, impacting Tral Payeen, Devar, Pinglish, Chewa, Kahlil, Tral Bala, Bajwani, and adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, shutdowns of the 33 kV Pattan–Amargarh line and 33 kV Arampora line are scheduled for February 7, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm, affecting Pattan, Zangam, Old Zangam, New Buran, Hanjiwera, Nehalpora, Railway area, Aadipora, Arampora, and nearby localities.

KPDCL has urged consumers in the affected areas to bear with the inconvenience and cooperate during the shutdown period, stating that the works are essential for improving the reliability and quality of power supply.
