JAMMU: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today met various public delegations at Civil Secretariat, Jammu, who apprised him of their issues and grievances.
During the interactions, the delegations apprised the Minister of a range of grievances and developmental concerns related to their respective sectors.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to all issues raised and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing genuine public grievances in a transparent, accountable, and time-bound manner.
The Minister issued specific directions to the concerned Heads of Departments (HODs) to thoroughly examine the matters brought to notice and ensure their prompt resolution on priority.
Earlier, a delegation of contractors associated with the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) highlighted the issue of non-release of their pending dues. The contractors informed the Minister that the delay in payments was causing significant financial hardship and affecting ongoing works.
Responding to their concerns, the Minister assured the delegation that the issue is under active consideration and reiterated that all genuine pending dues would be resolved at the earliest in accordance with established norms.
Another delegation from Bathindi raised the issue of irregular supply of drinking water and urged upon the minister to intervene for ensuring regular, adequate and uninterrupted water supply to the area.
Emphasizing that public welfare and the timely execution of developmental works remain the top priorities of the government, the Minister directed all concerned departments to maintain close inter-departmental coordination to ensure effective implementation of welfare schemes and efficient grievance redressal.
