Scheduled power shutdowns announced in Sgr & Budgam areas

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns in parts of Srinagar and Budgam districts to facilitate maintenance works on key transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, a shutdown of the 33 kV Alusteng–Zakura line will be observed on January 31, 2026, affecting power supply to Ahmad Nagar, Umerhair, and adjoining areas from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Similarly, a shutdown of the Cheshmashahi–TRC–Nedous line has been scheduled on February 1, 2026, during which electricity supply to Dal area, Paras Hospital, and 33 kV installations of Rajbagh Tapline will remain disrupted from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

In another instance, the 33 kV Budgam SIDCO Tap line will undergo shutdown on January 31, 2026, resulting in power outages in Ompora, Sheikhpora, Housing Colony, Mohanpora, NIFT, and adjoining areas between 12 noon and 3:00 pm.

Additionally, the 33 kV Lassipora–Keegam line will remain shut down on February 1, 4, 7, and 10, 2026, affecting electricity supply to Pakherpora, Rajpora, Rahmoo, Keegam, Gulshanabad, Akhal, Chararipora, and nearby areas from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on the scheduled dates.

KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance and has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused due to the essential maintenance works.
