SCERT organise orientation prog on ECCE for Cluster Heads, HOIs at Srinagar

SRINAGAR: In a bid to strengthen the implementation of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in schools, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW) and support of UNICEF, organised one-day orientation programme for 100 selected Heads of Institutions (HOIs) and Cluster Heads from 10 districts of the Kashmir division at SCERT, Srinagar.

The orientation workshop was facilitated by Senior Academic Officer, Sheikh Gulzar Ahmad and the JKASW team.

The JKASW team educated the participants on the finer aspects of ECCE and the critical role of AAYAs (ECCE Helpers) in education.

The workshop, a first of its kind, witnessed participation of 10 cluster heads/HOIs from each district on the role of AAYAs (ECCE Helpers) in education. The workshop is expected to enhance the understanding of Cluster Heads regarding the effective implementation of ECCE, with a defined role for AAYAs.

The workshop was presided over by Joint Director SCERT, Syed Shabir who emphasized the critical role of AAYAs in education and the need to incorporate innovation in education. Furthermore, he extended appreciation to JKASW for facilitating training of 3000 AAYAs and stressed on such collaborative partnerships in the future in this direction.
