SRINAGAR: Several delegations and political leaders called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday and raised a range of development and public welfare issues concerning different parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
A delegation led by BJP District President Anantnag, Rakesh Koul, met the Lieutenant Governor. No details of the issues discussed were disclosed.
J&K Apni Party senior leader and Media Advisor Syed Farooq Andrabi also called on the Lieutenant Governor and highlighted various development-related issues concerning Chadoora in Budgam district.
Senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Ghulam Nabi Bhat Palpori met the Lieutenant Governor and sought strengthening of Fire and Emergency Services in Palpora. He also raised issues related to Noorbagh Baghwanpora Maternity Hospital, drinking water supply in several localities, and development of playgrounds at Kreshbal, Sangam Danmar and Palpora.
In a separate meeting, Mohd Iqbal Ahangar, Chairman of the Coordination Committee J&K and South Global Peace Foundation, called on the Lieutenant Governor. He was accompanied by former Municipal Committee Ashmuqam Chairman Sofi Arfat and Advocate Shabir.
According to an official statement, the delegation sought the establishment of a maternity hospital and improved functioning of the dialysis centre at Dooru, upgradation of Verinag and Ashmuqam hospitals, and raised several welfare-related issues concerning the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community.
