Srinagar: Police have arrested father and son for illegally acquiring illicit forest timber and contraband substance in Baramulla, police spokesperson informed Saturday.
He said acting on specific information, a police party raided the house of one Khan Mohammad, son of Kalu Khan, resident of Kundi Barjala Kamalkote. During the search, 93 cft of illicit timber and seven kgs of poppy straw-like substance was recovered from the said house.
The accused and his son Shawair Ahmad Khan were arrested, and a case registered for further investigation, police said.
