GDC Anantnag defeats Government Degree College Mattan

Srinagar: In the ongoing 14th edition of Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket tournament at Islamia College playfield, the match was played between Government Degree College Anantnag and Government Degree College Mattan.
Prof. Javaid Hussain of the Department of Zoology interacted and welcomed all the players for their participation in Inter-College Cricket Tournament at Islamia College Cricket pitch.
The toss was won by Government Degree College Anantnag that elected to bat and scored 153 runs in the allotted 20 overs. For Government Degree College Anantnag, Ishfaq and Idrees scored 34 runs each in 25 and 11 deliveries. For Government Degree College Mattan, Yasir took 4 and Muneeb took 2 Wickets.
In Reply, chasing the target of 154 runs to win, Government Degree College Mattan managed to score 147 runs only and was bundled all-out.
For Government Degree College Mattan, Faisal and Balbinder Singh in reply scored 43 and 26 runs in 27 and 16 deliveries respectively. For Government Degree College Anantnag, Ishfaq took 04. The MAN of the MATCH was adjudged to ISHFAQ for his all-round performance in today’s match. As such Government Degree College Anantnag won the match by defeating Government Degree College Mattan by 6 Runs in a very close contest.
The next match of this tournament will be played on the 14th of March 2023 (i.e Tuesday) between the Host College i.e: – Islamia College, Srinagar and Government Degree College Frisal Kulgam.
The Tournament is being Organised by the Department of Physical Education, Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar, in the memory of Ex-Principal Prof Mohammad Yousuf of the college.
