3 LeT militants killed in Kokernag encounter

Srinagar: One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Waterhail area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.

Official sources told GNS that one militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, however identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.

ADGP Kashmir Kashmir Vijay Kumar earlier in a tweet said that Lateef Rather among three LeT militants trapped in encounter.

As per ADGP, Lateef Rather was involved in killing of Rahul Bhat, Ambreen Bhat and several other civilians.

Earlier Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Waterhail.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(GNS)
