J&K SDD, Art of Living sign MoU regarding up-gradation of ITIs

Srinagar: The Art of Living organization has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jammu and Kashmir government regarding the up-gradation of the skill development sector in the Union Territory.

In this regard, the Skill Development Department and Shri Shri Rural Development Program (Art of Living) today entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Principal Secretary, Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon and Deepak Sharma, representing SSRDP, signing the document.

Under the MoU, up-gradation of existing ITI infrastructure with state of art training, training of teachers (ToP), youth leadership and entrepreneurship will be done by SSRDP and SDD in 2 ITIs of Srinagar and Kathua besides establishing centres of excellence for removable energy (Solar Energy). 

As per the MoU, trades of skilled carpentry and plumbing shall be taken up in remote ITIs of Gurez, Karnah and Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir under the second phase.
