Srinagar/New Delhi, Mar 07: Twenty-five people tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, pushing the infection tally to 4,53,270, while no death due to the virus was reported in the past 24 hours, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 20 were from the Jammu division and five from the Kashmir division of the Union Territory, the officials said.

Jammu district recorded a maximum of 12 new cases, they said.

Fourteen of the total 22 districts in the Union Territory did not report any fresh COVID-19 case.

Moreover, 57 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 36 from Jammu division and 21 from Kashmir in the last 24 hours, officials said.

There are currently 325 active cases in Jammu and Kashmir, while the number of recoveries stands at 4,48,196, the officials said.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 8,927 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,15,96,753.

According to the bulletin out of 4,53,270 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 325 active positive cases across the UT including 165 in Kashmir and 160 in Jammu division, while as 4,48,196 persons have recovered and 4,749 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,326 in Jammu division.

Meanwhile, India has recorded its lowest daily COVID-19 cases since May 17, 2020, at 4,362, which took the total tally to 4,29,67,315, according to Union health ministry data updated on Monday.

The death toll has climbed to 5,15,102 with 66 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The country on May 17, 2020, had recorded 4,987 new cases.

The active COVID-19 cases in the country have dipped to 54,118 and comprised 0.13 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has further improved to 98.68 percent, the ministry said.

A reduction of 5,324 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 4,23,98,095, while the case fatality rate has been recorded as 1.20 percent.

The cumulative doses administered so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 178.90 crore.

The daily positivity rate has been recorded at 0.71 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.73 percent, according to the ministry.

A total of 6,12,926 tests were conducted on Sunday and the total tests conducted till now are 77,34,37,172.

A total of 5,15,102 deaths have been reported so far in the country.
