DG IMPARD chairs online meetings regarding DGGI, Case Studies

SRINAGAR: Director General, Institute of Management Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD), Saurabh Bhagat, today chaired two online meetings regarding review of District Good Governance Index (DGGI).

The first meeting focused on reviewing progress on fidelity check of data sets for publication of DGGI.

It was attended virtually by District Development Commissioners of all the 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir besides Regional Directors, Planning and Monitoring Department.

The Director General, while highlighting the purpose of DGGI, informed that the system is likely to be implemented by January 2022 when all districts and sectors shall be given a formal rank. This shall be followed by incentivizing the districts high on ranking and corrective action on the poor performers, he added. He informed the participants that District Good Governance Index (DGGI) was one of the commitments made in the Kashmir Aelamia Declaration 2021.

Later, DG convened the second meeting on documentation/certification of Case Studies regarding success stories of J&K by IMPARD in collaboration with Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad.

During the meeting, Programme Manager represented the Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Hyderabad.

The meeting had a review of all the four case studies including Back to Village (B2V) Programme, Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme of Health and Medical Education Department, Empowerment: Setting Benchmarks in Transparency and J&K Bank: A Story of Transformation.

Director General stressed the need for removing communication gaps so that work on these case studies is expedited.
