Srinagar: J&K Students Association (JKSA) today urged Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, to either defer J&K Combined Competitive (JKCC) (Preliminary) examination or to ensure adequate arrangements for aspirants.

In a statement issued here, JKSA spokesperson Nasir Khuehami said that students have to come from every nook and corner of Kashmir valley and many roads are closed due to snowfall, water-logging and incessant rains and in such a situation, it is very difficult to reach the examination centre.

“Many students who were on their way to reach the exams centres in Jammu got stuck at Banihal and other areas due to closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway. The candidates are supposed to report at their respective centers by 08:00 am in these circumstances when visibility is low even during the day,” said Khuehami.

“We have been receiving calls from many aspirants who are stuck due to highway closure by landslides. In this situation, it is not possible for them to reach the exam centers early in the morning. The Lt Governor administration, just like Kashmir University postponed all its exams in view of inclement weather, should also postpone JKCC exams,” he said.

Khuehami requested Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to either defer exams or make adequate arrangements for the Aspirants.
