Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference National Party President, Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday paid glowing tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, on his 31st martyrdom anniversary.

While paying rich tributes to Mirwaiz, Dr Farooq said that Shaheed Mirwaiz was a persuasive, forceful, and well versed orator with unparalleled depth of insight, profundity of scholarship and ease of illuminating exposition. “On his martyrdom anniversary, I pay tributes to him, and pray to Almighty to elevate his station in Jannat,” he said.

While recalling his immense contribution in the field of Islamic learning, theology and contemporary education, he said, “One of the standouts among the social-political and religious leaders, he will be remembered for rendering his responsibilities towards historic Jamia Masjid with devotion. On his martyrdom anniversary, I pay my earnest tributes to him. May Almighty elevate his station in Jannat.”

Dr Farooq also paid glowing tributes to the Founder of People’s Conference and Former MLA Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone on his 20th martyrdom anniversary. While paying rich tributes to Lone, the duo said that Lone was an accomplished political leader and a distinguished legislator, who despite rubbing shoulders with his contemporaries on no account lost his distinctiveness.  His service to people in various capacities in his capacity as a legislature and a minister will remain memorable, the duo added.

Among others Party General Secretary ,Additional General Secretary Dr.Sheikh Mustafa Kamal have also paid glowing tributes to Shaheed e Millat Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Shaheed Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone on their martyrdom anniversaries, praying for peace to them in the highest echelons of Jannat.

Meanwhile, Party Members of Parliament Muhammad Akbar Lone and Hassnain Masoodi have sought immediate release of all political detainees in view of the ravaging COVID crises. The duo also sought release of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
