COVID-19: Kashmir reports 17 deaths

Srinagar: At least seventeen patients, who were tested positive for COVID-19, died in Kashmir division since last night, taking total fatalities count in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to 2,579.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the patients who died include 68-year-old man from Mallabagh, 65-year-old and 60-year-old man from Ellahi-Bagh, 80-year-old man from Safapora Ganderbal, 60-year-old man from Dalgate, 78-year-old from Anantnag, 80-year-old man from Dalgate, 60-year-old man from Nowpora, 55-year-old woman from Boniyar, 68-year-old man from Makhdoom Sahib Hawal, 70-year-old man from Babhara Pulwama, 80-year-old woman from Pinglish Tral, 80-year-old from Pulwama, 75-year-old man from Sumbal Bandipora, 70-year-old man from Nai Basti Anantnag and two from Anantnag district.

An official said that 68-year-old from Malla Bagh, 65-year-old man and 60-year-old man from Ellahi-Bagh, 80-year-old man from Safapora, 55 woman from Boniyar and 68-year-old man from Makhdoom Sahib Hawal dies at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute Of Medical Sciences Soura days after testing positive for COVID-19.

He added that 60-year-old man from Dalgate died at SMHS Hospital, where as, 78-year-old man from Rambail Pora Anantnag died at CD Hospital Dalgate since last night.

80-year-old man from Dalgate and 60-year-old man from Nowpora died at JLNM Hospital Rainawari during intervening night of Thursday-Friday.

He further added that 70-year-old man from Babhara, 80-year-old woman from Tral and 80-year-old from Pulwama died at DH Pulwama and old aged man from Sumbal died at DH Bandipora, whereas, three deaths were reported at GMC Anantnag since last night.

With seventeen fresh COVID-19 related fatalities, the total count of deaths in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir mounted to 2,579, including 1,068 from Jammu division and 1,511 in Kashmir division.
