National Martyrs’ Day observed in Jammu

JAMMU: “Nation will always remain grateful and indebted to our heroes who have sacrificed their lives for the security and welfare of our motherland,” stated Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, while addressing a function organised by Sainik Welfare Department to observe National Martyrs Day at Balidan Stambh, here today.

Advisor said that Shaheed Diwas is aimed at to pay tribute to the freedom fighters and war heroes who lost their lives fighting for the freedom, safety and security of our nation. “They are the real source of inspiration for the young generation as they are the makers of future of the country,” Advisor asserted.

Among others, Director Sanik Welfare Department Retired Brigadier Gurmeet Singh Shan, Retired Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal and war veterans were present on the occasion.
