Pattan: Residents of Hanjiwera Pattan area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Monday staged a protest over scarcity of drinking water in the area.
Large number of people including men and women of Hanjiwera village of Pattan staged a protest against the Jal Shakti department which according to them has failed to ensure the supply of portable drinking water in the area
They said that the people of the area are being forced to drink contaminated water from the nearby local streams.
The protesting people disrupted the vehicular movement on the Srinagar Baramulla road for some time.
