Srinagar: December: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference North Zone President and Member of Parliament from Baramulla Muhammad Akbar Lone on Monday distanced himself from some independent candidates which have surfaced in north Kashmir claiming his support in the ongoing DDC elections.
Lone said that he has abided by the decision of party president and Chairman PAGD Dr. Farooq Abdullah and that some independent candidates who claim to have his support are copiously lying to hoodwink people to harm the PAGD platform.
“I have nothing to do with such claimants who have surfaced in my home constituency. These claimants are spreading this misinformation with malafide interests, apparently to harm PAGD led by Dr. Sahib. I take strong exception to such a misinformation campaign by these unscrupulous elements and urge the people not to fall prey to their obnoxious propaganda. I wholeheartedly support the PADG candidates and take this opportunity to urge people across J&K to vote and support PAGD candidates only,” he said.
