Baramulla: A 14-year-old boy drowned in river Jhelum while taking a bath in Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
An official said that the boy drowned while taking a bath. “A few local youth jumped into the river to rescue the boy, but couldn’t find him in the water,” the official said.
He said that police also reached to the spot and launched a search operation to trace the boy.
The official identified him as Shahid Ahmad son of Late Noor Mohammad, a resident Khudalan locality of Nowshehra in Uri.
