JKAP questions NC’s staying away from delimitation commission
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Lashing out at National Conference and its leadership, senior JKAP leader Ghulam Hassan Mir on Saturday said that the party will be solely responsible for harming the remaining status of J&K if God forbid any untoward result will come out from delimitation process.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mir said that by deciding to stay away from delimitation commission, NC has once again ‘cheated’ its electorate.

Mir said, “At a juncture when NC can represent the wishes and aspirations of people of J&K in delimitation commission, it is very unfortunate they are boycotting the process.”

He questioned that when the party still stands as part of parliament despite abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, why it shies away to fulfill its responsibilities.

“I think NC parliamentarians should take part in delimitation process, if there is no harm to be a parliamentarian despite abrogation of Article 370, then what prevents NC to take part in the commission?”, Mir said.

JKAP leader said if tomorrow any anti-Kashmir verdict comes out from the process, all responsibility will lie on the shoulders of NC.

When asked about the revocation of Article 370 by BJP government in Centre, Mir said we too denounced the decision as it was purely “undemocratic” and “unconstitutional” and added the Supreme Court (SC) is the best institution to set the things right.
