‘DIPR supported Tele classes by DSEK benefit lakhs of students amid COVID pandemic’

JAMMU: To take step forward to bring education to the doorsteps of the students, special tele-classes are being organised with due technical and infrastructural support of Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) by the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, for benefitting lakhs of students in Jammu and Kashmir amid closure of schools due to COVID-19 outbreak.

Started on March 25, 2020 and continuing throughout the lockdown period, the tele-classes are being held for class 7 to class 10 to cover the syllabus for Term 1 of these classes and enable the students to cope with the loss due to the disruption of class work in the backdrop of the prevailing worldwide pandemic.

The half an hour duration tele-class on a specific subject is aired daily on 5:30 PM and repeated next Day at 4 PM on DD Kashir.

Each day new lecture is aired on specific topic, which may extend to two lectures, depending on the time it requires for completion.

The classes are conducted by expert faculty of the government schools including lecturers and teachers, on the full list of subjects and recorded at the studio of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR).

The Information Department also handles the post recording job to fine tune the presentation by way of effective sound and picture editing by its expert staff.

The lectures also include tips about the preventive measures against the spread of covid virus and other general awareness.

The initiative has received an overwhelming response from the students and parents.
