The programmes were attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora Tahir Saleem, supervisory officers and the respective Station House Officers. Prominent citizens, traders and representatives from adjoining areas also participated.

During the interactions, participants raised several public issues, including traffic congestion, overloading in public transport, drug peddling, cybercrime, domestic violence and other social concerns.

They also called for adequate police deployment during festivals and public gatherings and better coordination between the police and the trading community. Participants stressed the need for greater involvement of Mohalla representatives in such public interaction programmes.

The participants assured the police of their cooperation in maintaining peace and harmony and in collectively addressing social problems, particularly drug abuse.

The DIG and SSP heard the grievances and suggestions and assured participants that genuine issues would be taken up for redressal on priority.

The DIG thanked the participants for their feedback and emphasised the importance of public cooperation in strengthening police-public relations.

The SSP said police-related grievances would be addressed on priority, while issues falling within the jurisdiction of the civil administration would be taken up with the concerned departments. He also said ongoing works would be completed shortly and reiterated that his office remained accessible to citizens.

He assured that such interaction programmes would continue to promote mutual trust, cooperation and community participation.
