SRINAGAR: Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD), Mandeep Kaur, on Friday inspected the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Facility at Tengpora to review its infrastructure, functioning and arrangements for animal care.
Accompanied by Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner Dr Basharat Qayoom, Kaur directed officials to ensure adequate stocks of animal feed and uninterrupted availability of essential medicines at the facility.
She also stressed the need for proper heating arrangements to protect animals from cold conditions and directed officials to maintain sanitation and hygiene through regular cleaning and upkeep of the premises.
Kaur asked the concerned officers to ensure timely replenishment of essential supplies, closely monitor daily operations and address any shortcomings without delay.
She also called for regular supervision and accountability to ensure proper animal welfare and smooth functioning of the facility.
Joint Commissioner (Administration), Joint Commissioner (Works), executive engineers and other senior SMC officers were present during the inspection.
