GANDERBAL: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shreya Singhal on Wednesday flagged off a one-day exposure-cum-sports tour for 40 Children with Special Needs (CWSN) under the Inclusive Education component of Samagra Shiksha.
The tour commenced from the Mini Secretariat Complex in Ganderbal, with the students accompanied by escort teachers and the district’s Inclusive Education Team.
The children are scheduled to visit the archaeological site of Burzahama and Bagh-e-Gul Dawood in Srinagar to gain exposure through experiential learning, recreational activities and social interaction beyond the classroom.
The official press release did not specify the schools or areas from which the participating children were drawn.
Speaking on the occasion, Singhal highlighted the importance of inclusive education and educational exposure in the overall development of children with special needs. She expressed hope that the visit would help them build confidence, strengthen peer relationships, develop social skills and benefit from shared experiences.
