NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) airlifted a critically ill 30-year-old civilian from Leh to Palam in Delhi aboard a C-130J aircraft late at night for emergency medical treatment, the Defence Ministry said on Sunday.
The evacuation was carried out at short notice in darkness and challenging weather conditions, requiring coordination and operational preparedness, according to an official statement.
The patient was subsequently transferred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for further treatment.
The IAF said the mission demonstrated its ability to respond to urgent humanitarian requirements, including medical evacuations in difficult conditions.
