The Chief Justice first interacted with judicial officers at the District Court Complex, Srinagar, where he emphasised the importance of discharging judicial responsibilities fearlessly, compassionately and in accordance with the rule of law.

Later, the Kashmir Advocates Association organised a felicitation programme for the Chief Justice at the court complex. Association president Advocate Waseem Gul welcomed him and the newly appointed Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar.
Gul highlighted the role of district courts as an accessible forum for ordinary citizens and stressed the need for cooperation between the Bench and the Bar. He also sought guidance on improving court infrastructure, facilities for lawyers and litigants, legal aid, alternative dispute resolution and structured training for young advocates.
The association president announced that the body had accepted in principle the induction of five women lawyers into its executive committee, with the decision to be formalised shortly.
Addressing the gathering, Justice Bhati welcomed the move and stressed the importance of encouraging women advocates to take on greater roles in the legal profession. Referring to the pioneering contribution of Cornelia Sorabji, he called for greater opportunities for women lawyers and described members of the Bar as important custodians of constitutional rights and access to justice.
The Chief Justice also urged the legal fraternity to adapt to changing societal needs and embrace technology, warning that institutions risk falling behind if they fail to keep pace with technological developments.
The engagements highlighted the importance of cooperation between judicial officers and lawyers in improving court functioning and strengthening the justice delivery system.
