He stressed the need for better coordination among government departments to expedite ongoing development projects, infrastructure works and welfare schemes.

“Our primary aim will be to ensure a responsive, transparent and accountable administration at all levels,” Singh said, according to an official statement.

Later in the day, the Deputy Commissioner chaired an introductory review meeting with district officers and field staff to assess the functioning of various departments, the status of ongoing development projects and public service delivery mechanisms.

During the meeting, he directed departments, including the Rural Development Department (RDD) and Agriculture Department, to improve coordination, address inter-departmental bottlenecks and minimise procedural delays to ensure timely completion of development works and implementation of welfare schemes.

Singh also announced that department-wise reviews would be conducted to identify critical requirements and monitor performance.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Dr Nasir Ahmed Lone, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr Zakir Hussain Faaz, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Shakoor Ahmed Dar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zainapora Bilal Ahmed, General Manager District Industries Centre (DIC) Shurjil Naik, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Muzaffar Ahmed and other district officers.
