MLA Bandipora promises funds for girls’ facility, college bus at HKM GDC

BANDIPORA: MLA Bandipora Nizam Uddin Bhat on Wednesday reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects worth around ₹18 crore at HKM Government Degree College (GDC), Bandipora, and announced financial support for a girls’ rest room and a college bus.

During an interaction with the college administration, faculty members and students, Bhat discussed the institution’s developmental needs, infrastructure requirements and student-related issues.

According to officials, the MLA assured that around ₹1 crore would be proposed under the District CAPEX Budget for the next financial year for the construction of a girls’ rest room at the college.

He also announced ₹30 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund for the purchase of a college bus to improve transportation facilities for students.

The Principal of HKM GDC Bandipora briefed the MLA about various infrastructure requirements and ongoing development works at the institution.

During the meeting, the status of the already sanctioned library block was reviewed, while the proposal for an auditorium block also came up for discussion.

Issues related to accessibility and student scholarships were also raised, with the college administration highlighting difficulties faced by students in these areas.

Bhat assured the institution of support in addressing its infrastructure and student welfare requirements.
