SRINAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday held a conference of Departmental Vigilance Officers (DVOs) at its headquarters in Peerbagh, Srinagar, to review pending vigilance matters and discuss measures for strengthening departmental oversight mechanisms.
The conference was chaired by Director ACB Shakti Pathak and attended by senior ACB officers and 51 DVOs from various Kashmir-based government departments.
During the meeting, the Director reviewed the status of vigilance cases pending with the DVOs and directed officers to expedite disposal of long-pending matters on priority.
Officials said the Director emphasised the need for thorough inquiries into complaints involving alleged misconduct by public servants and asked DVOs to submit detailed inquiry reports clearly indicating findings on alleged irregularities or misconduct.
He also urged vigilance officers to remain alert to malpractices within their respective departments and districts and to report any such instances to the ACB for appropriate action.
As part of the conference, the ACB made a presentation outlining procedures and a roadmap for conducting departmental inquiries. Relevant reference material and professional guidance were also provided to participants to strengthen vigilance and inquiry processes.
