Jammu: The two-day 204th ‘Raksha Pension Samadhan Ayojan’ began at Tanda in the Akhnoor sector near here on Wednesday, bringing defence veterans, Veer Naris, dependents of ex-servicemen, and civilian defence employees from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on a common platform for prompt, time-bound resolution of pension-related grievances.
General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, Lt Gen Mohit Seth and Principal Controller of Defence Accounts, Prayagraj, Himanshu Shankar, inaugurated ‘Raksha Pension Samadhan Ayojan’ (RPSA) in the presence of senior military and pension authorities, a defence spokesperson said.
He said the RPSA provides a single-window platform for veterans and their families to engage directly with concerned authorities to resolve grievances related to pension, service-record updation, family pension, and digital pension services, including SPARSH.
The spokesperson said the emphasis is on in-situ grievance redressal, with cases resolved at the venue itself wherever feasible, while matters requiring further action are being pursued with the concerned agencies.
He said a comprehensive facilitation network comprising 36 dedicated stalls has brought together Records Offices, ECHS, Rajya Sainik Board, AWPO, DGR, banks, SPARSH Service Centre, Veer Parivar initiatives and various Central and UT Government departments, providing veterans and their families access to pension, healthcare, welfare, resettlement and other support services under one roof.
The spokesperson said General Officer Commanding, 10 RAPID (H) Maj Gen Y S Sekhon, and Principal Controller of Defence Accounts, Northern Command, Jammu Ravinesh Kumar, attended the inaugural event.
The initiative reaffirms the Defence Forces’ enduring commitment to the welfare, dignity and well-being of its veterans, under the guiding ethos, “Your Pension — Our Commitment”, he said.
He said the Ayojan also focuses on raising awareness and empowering veterans and their families through dedicated lectures and interactive sessions on pension entitlements, welfare schemes, digital services, resettlement and employment opportunities.
The spokesperson said an NGO also organised a free medical camp with specialist doctors for veterans.
He said the RPSA goes beyond grievance redressal, reaffirming the enduring bond between the nation and its veterans and the resolve to ensure that those who served the nation with dedication and sacrifice continue to receive care, dignity and responsive support under the motto “You served the nation. We stand with you.”
