BARAMULLA: Two labourers were killed and another injured after a tractor overturned during construction work near the Sangri Bypass area of Baramulla district on Sunday, officials said.
According to officials, the accident occurred when a tractor carrying three labourers and a load of iron materials overturned while engaged in construction-related work.
Two labourers died on the spot, while another sustained injuries in the incident. The injured worker was shifted to a nearby health facility for treatment.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Raiq, 32, son of Mohammad Dawoud, a resident of Chandarkot in Ramban district, and Abbul Wahid, 45, son of Mohammad Mali Dohi, a resident of Jajar Kotli in Jammu district.
The injured labourer, Imran Ahmad Dar of Baramulla, is undergoing treatment, officials said.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the accident. Further details are awaited.
