LEH: More than 800 youths, volunteers and community members participated in a Health Walk-Run organised in Leh on Sunday under the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – 100 Sundays Campaign” to promote fitness, healthy lifestyles and awareness against substance abuse.
Held under the theme “My Health, My Pride”, the programme aimed to encourage positive youth engagement and spread the message of a drug-free life.
The walk commenced from Sangya Namgyal Chowk and was flagged off by Bhanu Prabha, Administrative Secretary for School Education, Higher Education and Skill Development in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Addressing participants, MY Bharat Ladakh State Director Tajamul Ara appreciated the enthusiastic response from young people and acknowledged the support of various departments and officials involved in organising the event.
According to organisers, the programme drew participation from more than 800 youths, MY Bharat volunteers, government officials and members of the public.
As part of the campaign, participants were engaged through nukkad nataks (street plays), cultural performances and awareness activities highlighting the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and avoiding substance abuse.
The event also featured a mass pledge, with participants committing themselves to an active, healthy and addiction-free lifestyle in line with the campaign’s objective of building a drug-free youth population.
The programme concluded at NDS Ground in Leh, where a closing function was held.
