SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lake Conservation and Management Authority (JKLCMA) Vice Chairman Khurshid Ahmad Shah on Monday inspected the Dole Demb area to assess the condition of the water body and explore measures for its beautification and development.
During the visit, Shah reviewed the existing status of the site and directed officials to prepare a comprehensive development proposal incorporating landscaping, plantation, improved pathways and other public amenities while preserving the ecological character of the water body.
According to officials, the proposed project aims to develop Dole Demb as a public recreational space and improve the tourism appeal of the Dal Lake area.
The Vice Chairman instructed officials to undertake bush-cutting and site-clearance works to improve accessibility and facilitate future dredging and restoration activities. He also directed the engineering wing to prepare detailed estimates for the proposed development works.
Shah stressed the need for coordination among the engineering, revenue and field wings to ensure timely planning and execution of the project. He said the focus should remain on environmental improvement alongside enhancing the area’s visual appeal and utility for visitors.
The inspection was attended by senior JKLCMA officials, including the Superintending Engineer, Collector Land Acquisition, Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer, Executive Engineers, Technical Officer and other engineering staff.
