SHOPIAN: A man died after falling from a walnut tree in the Kazapathri area of Shadab Karewa in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Rafiq Sheikh, a resident of Kazapathri, Shadab Karewa.
Officials said Sheikh sustained critical injuries after falling from the tree and was initially taken to District Hospital Shopian for treatment. He was later referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for specialised care.
However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital, officials added.
