SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department (MeT) has forecast generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir till October 4, with light rain and snowfall over higher reaches expected from October 5.
According to the forecast, weather conditions are likely to remain dry on September 30 and from October 1 to 4.
The MeT said that on October 5 and 6, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy, with the possibility of light rain, thunder and gusty winds at a few places. Light snowfall may also occur over higher reaches during this period.
Weather is likely to remain generally dry again on October 7 and 8.
Another spell of partly to generally cloudy weather is forecast from October 9 to 11, when scattered places may receive light rain, accompanied by thunder, gusty winds and light snowfall over higher elevations.
The department has advised farmers to continue harvesting apples, paddy and other crops and carry out agricultural operations during the prevailing dry spell.
