BANDIPORA: Students of Classes 9 to 12 from Government Higher Secondary School Buduaab, Tulail, visited the Waqar Knowledge Centre at the Mini Secretariat in Bandipora on Friday as part of an educational exposure programme.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal Chib interacted with the students and discussed their experiences during visits to the University of Kashmir, Government Unani Medical College, Ganderbal, and the Kishanganga Hydroelectric Power Project.
She encouraged the students to make use of such exposure opportunities to explore higher education and career options.
During the interaction, the Deputy Commissioner said the district administration has undertaken measures to strengthen educational facilities in Gurez and improve learning outcomes in the sub-division.
Referring to initiatives under the Aspirational Block Programme, Chib said Tulail had received an award of ₹1.5 crore from NITI Aayog. She added that around 50 development-related suggestions had been received from residents of Gurez for inclusion in local development plans.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the proposed solar-powered Mobile Knowledge Centre as one of the community-driven initiatives aimed at improving access to educational resources in remote areas. She also stressed the need to strengthen library facilities to encourage reading and learning among students.
The programme provided students an opportunity to interact with district officials and discuss education, career aspirations and personal development.
