KULGAM: A two-day Ganesh Hawan and Yagna was held at the historic Ganesh Asthapan Mandir in Batpora Hergam area of Frisal in Kulgam district after a gap of 36 years, officials said on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam visited the temple during the religious event and reviewed arrangements made for devotees.
According to officials, the Deputy Commissioner inspected facilities related to security, sanitation, electricity, drinking water, healthcare and fire safety, and took stock of overall arrangements at the shrine.
He also interacted with devotees and reviewed measures put in place by the district administration for the smooth conduct of the programme.
The two-day religious event was organised on September 22 and 23 and witnessed participation from devotees and members of the local community.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Tehsildar Frisal Javid Iqbal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Hattipora Rajit Chib, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Frisal Mohammad Irfan and other officials.
