SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department has forecast generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir until October 4, with only brief spells of rain and light snowfall expected over higher reaches later this month.
According to officials, two weak western disturbances are likely to affect the Union Territory on September 24 and September 27.
The MeT Department said a brief spell of rain at a few places and light snowfall over higher reaches was likely during the evening hours of September 24 and again on September 27-28.
The department advised farmers to take advantage of the prevailing dry weather for harvesting activities and ensure safe storage of agricultural produce during the period when light precipitation is expected.
The forecast indicates that no major weather activity is expected across Jammu and Kashmir during the next two weeks.
