SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has placed Agrostologist Kashmir, Sajad Ahmad Khan, under suspension pending an inquiry into his conduct.
According to an order issued by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force (HoFF), J&K, Khan, a Range Officer Grade-I holding charge as Divisional Forest Officer (DFO)/Agrostologist Kashmir, has been suspended with immediate effect under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The order states that the suspension has been ordered pending an inquiry into allegations of misconduct.
During the suspension period, Khan will remain attached with the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests/HoFF, J&K.
The government has also directed that Dr Mehraj Ahmad Sheikh, Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) and In-charge DFO Urban Forestry Srinagar, shall hold additional charge of DFO Agrostologist Kashmir until further orders.
The order was issued by the government through the Forest Department authorities.
