Srinagar: Zarka Naseer Khan, an M.V.Sc graduate in Veterinary Microbiology from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), has secured admission to a fully funded PhD programme at Jeonbuk National University, South Korea.
Zarka completed her Master’s degree in Veterinary Microbiology from SKUAST-K in July 2026 and joined the Department of Veterinary Medicine at Jeonbuk National University in September 2026. She will pursue her doctoral research at the university’s Infectious Disease Laboratory under the supervision of Professor Oem Jae-Ku.
The achievement highlights the growing opportunities available to SKUAST-K graduates for pursuing advanced studies and research abroad. University officials said the institution has been strengthening its academic and research ecosystem to enhance global exposure, mobility and employability of students through greater access to international education and research opportunities.
Zarka expressed gratitude to SKUAST-K for the academic support and training she received during her Master’s programme, saying it provided a strong foundation for her doctoral studies and research career.
