Srinagar: The National School of Drama (NSD) on Thursday commenced a three-month Short-Term Theatre Course at its Srinagar Centre, aimed at providing aspiring theatre practitioners with structured training and practical exposure to various aspects of theatre.
The course was formally inaugurated at the NSD Srinagar Centre in the presence of the Registrar, Dean (Academics) and the Centre In-charge of the Srinagar Centre.
The dignitaries inaugurated the programme and extended their best wishes to the participants, expressing hope that the course would provide a meaningful and enriching learning experience in the field of theatre.
According to NSD, the three-month programme has been designed to introduce participants to different dimensions of theatre through a combination of theoretical learning and practical training.
The course aims to nurture artistic talent, strengthen theatre education and create opportunities for young learners and theatre enthusiasts to engage more deeply with the performing arts.
Officials said the initiative is part of NSD’s broader efforts to strengthen theatre education through its regional centres and expand access to quality theatre training opportunities for aspiring practitioners in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the region.
