SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across parts of Kashmir due to maintenance and repair works on transmission lines and feeders.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, power supply to Sangam, Shanglipora, Takenwari and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 19 and 23 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Wanganpora-Takanwari line.
A shutdown of the 33 kV Wanganpora-Soura SKIMS line will affect power supply to Upper Soura, 90 Feet, Zoonimar, Anchar, Bahlachpora and adjoining areas from 8 am to 2 pm on September 26 and 30.
Meanwhile, power supply to Hajin, Preng, Madwan, Banyari, Hakbara, Chandergeer and neighbouring areas will remain disrupted from 8 am to 3 pm on September 17 owing to the shutdown of the 33 kV Army feeder.
KPDCL said the shutdown of the 33 kV Lar-Tulmulla, Safapora and Army feeders will affect electricity supply to Lar, Waliwar, Watlar, Repora, Tulmulla, Dangerpora, Theeru, Larsun, Safapora, Gratabal, Chewa, Jarokabagh, Manasbal, Nowgam, Inderkoot, Wangipora, Nesbal, Naninara, Sumbal Bazaar, Hajin, Preng, Madwan, Banyari, Hakbara, Chandergeer and adjoining areas from 8 am to 3 pm on September 19.
The corporation further said that maintenance of 132 kV Power Transformer-II and shutdown of the Army, Safapora, Lar-Tulmulla and Kurhama feeders will affect power supply to Kurhama, Youngoora, Barsoo, Old Dab, Checki Baba Salun, Sainik School, Rabitar, Kondbal, GCET Safapora and several adjoining areas from 8 am to 3 pm on September 21, 23 and 25.
In addition, shutdown of the 132 kV Habbak-Badampora and Kangan-Badampora feeders will affect electricity supply to parts of Ganderbal and Bandipora districts, including Kurhama, Yangpora, Baroosa, Lar, Safapora, Hajin, Aloosa, Ajas, Guroora, Argam, Dawar, Tragbal and Razdan Top, among other areas, from 8 am to 3 pm on September 29 and October 1, KPDCL said.
The utility advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the shutdown period.
