Jammu clinches U-19 divisional kabaddi title, beats Ramban

DODA: District Jammu won the Inter-District Divisional-Level Boys Under-19 Kabaddi Championship after defeating District Ramban in a closely fought final at the Indoor Stadium here on Monday.

The final, held at the end of a three-day tournament from September 12 to 14, saw Jammu edge past Ramban by two points to claim the title. Ramban finished as runners-up after a spirited performance.

Organised by the District Youth Services and Sports Department, the championship featured teams from districts across the Jammu Division. The event was conducted under the activity calendar of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir, and as per the schedule assigned by the Joint Director, Jammu.

Officials said the tournament provided young players an opportunity to compete at the divisional level and showcase their skills, discipline and sportsmanship. The championship also highlighted the growing popularity of kabaddi among youth in the region.

Chief Planning Officer Manish Kumar attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. He congratulated the participating teams and appreciated the efforts of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Doda, in organising the event and providing competitive opportunities to young athletes.

The tournament was conducted with the support of technical officials, referees and departmental staff. The technical panel was headed by Ashok Kumar as convener.

The Youth Services and Sports Department, Doda, congratulated the winning Jammu team and acknowledged the performance of Ramban and other participating teams for contributing to the successful conduct of the championship.
