SRINAGAR: Police in Anantnag along with Rajasthan Police have arrested an absconder who was evading arrest since 2009, police spokesperson informed Sunday.
He said a police party of Police Station Mattan apprehended absconder Shabir Ahmad Khan of Nai Basti, Khanabal near Showkat Gas Agency.
He was wanted in case FIR No. 09/2009 of GRP Abu Road, District Sirohi, Rajasthan under NDPS Act for dealing in 4.5 Kg of ‘Charas’ (cannabis), which was to be delivered at Ahmedabad. The NDPS Court, District Sirohi, Rajasthan had issued an arrest warrant against him and he was absconding since 2009.
The absconder was apprehended from Gopalpora Mattan, and concerned police authorities have been informed for further legal action, police said.
