BUDGAM: A man and his three-year-old son were killed, while the man’s wife sustained critical injuries in a road accident at Bagiseer in the Soibugh area of Budgam district on Saturday, officials said.
The accident involved a car bearing registration number JK02CV-2129 and a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04G-3449.
Officials identified the deceased as Naseer Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, a resident of Ghoom Ahmadpora, Magam, and his three-year-old son, Hadi.
According to officials, Naseer was riding the motorcycle, while his wife, Dilshada Akhter (26), and their son were travelling as pillion riders when the vehicle was struck by the car, which was reportedly on its way from Budgam towards Soibugh.
The impact of the collision proved fatal for Naseer and his son, who died on the spot.
Dilshada Akhter sustained critical injuries and was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment. Doctors said her condition remains critical.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the accident.
