SRINAGAR: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Kulgam, Anantnag and Pulwama and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Saturday.
In Kulgam, during checking at Lassipora Crossing, police recovered substance weighing approximately 171 grams from the possession of Mudasir Khursheed Laigroo, a resident of Sherpora, Anantnag. Laigaroo was subsequently arrested.
In Anantnag, police arrested Ajaz Ahmad Malik of Old Qazibagh, Mattan Chowk. During his search, 3.15 grams of heroin and 4.44 grams of cannabis were recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 301/2026 under Sections 8/20, 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag, and investigation has been taken up.
In Pulwama, Ateef Bashir of Babademb, Khanyar, presently residing at Pirbagh, Srinagar, was arrested after 6 grams of heroin-like substance along with ₹5,000 in cash were recovered from his possession.
