Kargil: Jaffar Ali, a first-semester student of Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil, secured third position in the men’s 1000-metre race during the National Sports Day 2026 and Youth Engagement Month celebrations organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh.
Following his podium finish, Jaffar has also been selected to represent GDC Kargil in the 11-km Ladakh Marathon 2026, scheduled to be held on September 13.
The Principal and faculty members of GDC Kargil congratulated the student on his achievement and appreciated his efforts in bringing laurels to the institution. They also extended their best wishes for his participation in the upcoming marathon.
