Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Thursday reviewed preparations for the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJ&K), directing officers to ensure close coordination and seamless execution of arrangements for the event.
Chairing a high-level meeting at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) auditorium in Srinagar, Garg emphasised the need for clear communication, timely information sharing and accountability among departments involved in organising the festival.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, Secretary Information, Director DIPR, senior police officers, departmental heads, nodal officers and liaison officers.
Officials reviewed arrangements related to guest arrivals, transportation, accommodation, security, film screenings, opening and closing ceremonies, guided tours and other logistical requirements.
The Divisional Commissioner directed nodal and liaison officers to take ownership of their assigned responsibilities and ensure effective coordination with all stakeholders to facilitate the smooth conduct of the festival.
He stressed the importance of maintaining continuous communication among departments and field teams to avoid any gaps in execution during the event.
During the meeting, the Director Information briefed officers on their respective roles and responsibilities, covering arrangements from Jammu and Srinagar airports to the main festival venues, including SKICC and INOX.
Officials also reviewed preparations related to airport facilitation, transport plans, accommodation, sightseeing tours, floating cinema, parking facilities, venue beautification, help desks and stalls.
The nodal officers apprised the meeting of the progress made at their respective deployment sites and the arrangements being put in place for the festival.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, SSP Srinagar and other officers assured full cooperation and support for the successful conduct of the event.
